The whitetail bucks you will see at Hogsback Ranch will range from 130" to well over 200" with body weights up to 300 lbs. These huge bucks are no accident. They are a creation of time, genetics, and proper management. Hogsback Ranch provides you with the best hunting experience through our dedication of genetic excellence and animal health right here on our own ranch, which provides us with monster bucks for you to pursue.
Our family owned and operated ranch has been breeding quality whitetails since 2000. Hogsback Ranch's breeding and artifical insemination operation moved to it's current location in April of 2005. In addition to preserve hunting opportunities, we offer does, fawns, breeder bucks and semen for sale throughout the deer breeding season. Additional Hunting Opportunities
Our hunting preserve specializes in whitetail deer and elk hunting, but we also have variety of other hunting opportunities available. We offer pheasant hunting, duck hunting, and trap or skeet shooting. You can also rent our lodge for a black bear or bobcat hunt or just to enjoy the trails of the Chequamegon National Forest.

How to Book your Hunt:
All whitetail deer and elk hunts are booked for up to three days and include lodging, meals, guide service and transportation to and from the Eau Claire, Wisconsin Airport. Advanced reservations with a $1,000 - $2,000 non-refundable deposit are required to confirm bookings for all hunts. Balance must be paid by money order, cashiers check, cash or credit card upon completion of the hunt. If a hunter wishes to harvest more than one deer during his/her three day stay, a $500 discount* will be given on the second deer harvested. A $1,000 discount* will be given for each deer after the second. *Applies to whitetail deer only.
Whatever your needs and wants are we will work with you to provide you with the hunt package you desire. We want you to come back year after year. You will be impressed with our whitetails. We don't just "talk the talk" like other preserves, "we walk the walk."

What is a "hogsback" and where is your preserve located?
The name Hogsback Ranch comes from a land feature on the ranch that has been called the Hogsback ever since we can remember. A "hogsback" is a ridge of land having steep slopes at the sides and a sharp crest. Yes, it is a real word! Hunt our beautiful rolling preserve from your choice of elevated stands, ground blinds and tree stands. Enjoy the thrill as you watch trophy bucks in their natural habitat. Watch as grunt calls and rattling techniques drive ‘em crazy. Take your buck with rifle, muzzleloader or bow. You’re in the action at Hogsback Ranch!

Modern Accommodations
Hogsback Ranch's hunter cabins are located on the picturesque Jump River with access to a wide variety of recreational opportunities. Enjoy fishing for bass, muskie, northern pike and walleye right outside your door. Venture downstream gliding in your canoe, relaxing with your friends and family. Tell stories around the campfire at night. Take in the autumn splendor Northern Wisconsin is famous for and enjoy the crisp fall air.
Two cabins are available for lodging when you book your hunt through Hogsback Ranch. The Antler, a beautiful hand-hewn cabin, is the larger of the two cabins and is fully furnished with:
- One queen-sized bed
- Two full-sized beds
- Two twin beds
- One full-size sleeper sofa
- Kitchen complete with dishes and utensils
- Microwave oven
- Gas stove with full size oven
- Refrigerator
- One bath with tub and shower
- Laundry with washer and dryer
- Direct TV satellite connection
The second cabin, The Angler, is finished with authentic log slab siding and is fully furnished with:
- One queen-sized bed
- One full-size sleeper sofa
- Carpeted loft
- Kitchen complete with dishes and utensils
- Microwave oven
- Refrigerator
- One bath with tub and shower
- TV and VCR
Firepit and firewood at no charge! Canoe rental, fishing poles and equipment are available. Both cabins are situated on the Jump River in beautiful Northern Wisconsin. Campsites are also available.
